What you love about skating:

What I love about skating is that its an amazing way to connect with so many people and form so many friendships that will last forever. As well as how many life lessons it has taught me over the years for me to grow as a person on and off the ice. Lessons that I will be able to pass on to my skaters.

What you love about skating:

Everything!! The wind that brushes my face as I glide on the ice; the music, make-up and performing in fancy dresses. On a serious note, I love de-stressing on the ice by doing jumps, spins, and footwork.

Skating brings me great joy! So it is very important to me that my skaters are enjoying what they are doing first and foremost. My role as their coach is not only to help them become a good skater, but to also support their development and provide them with the skills to be successful in their day to day lives. It is an indescribable feeling to see my skaters develop traits such as discipline, passion, and dedication.

What you love about skating and coaching:

I love that you can be any character while you’re on the ice! Throughout my skating years, I was able to play all my favorites from Pocahontas to Jack Sparrow and everything in between. I got to tell the judges and audience a story through my skating. I love that this individual sport can also be learned in a group format, creating a team atmosphere. Also, figure skating has no end, once you’ve mastered one skill there is always something new to learn, this creates everlasting challenges and a sport that you can continue to learn for the rest of your life. I enjoy sharing my passion for skating through teaching all levels of Learn to Skate, Figure Skating and Power Skating!

Corey Grunberg

Skating Accomplishments:

In addition to working on my skating tests, I am also currently completing my B.Sc. in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University. In the past, I was a karate instructor, swim coach, and camp counsellor. Coaching skating combines many of my interests including health and wellness, working with children, and figure skating of course! There is no feeling more rewarding than seeing a student work hard to achieve a goal.

What you love about skating and coaching:

I remember first watching figure skating during the 2010 Olympics and I quickly fell in love with the sport. After being a figure skating fan for many years, in February 2018 I decided that it was time I try the sport out myself! Soon after picking up skating at my local rink, I contacted Your Peak Performance and began lessons. I love the feeling of freeness that I get when gliding, spinning, and jumping on the ice.
